Design compliance inspection

Identify non-conformities before construction begins.

We assess the conformity of the design or part of it with the applicable normative and technical documents before construction begins. The result is recorded in a report describing the defects identified.

01 · Subject of inspection

What we inspect

We determine the facility’s of the design documentation and the design sections conformity with the technical specification and/or against the established requirements — structural and architectural sections, engineering-geological and hydrological surveys, engineering networks.

Scope
The scope of inspection is determined based on the inspection objective, within the scope of accreditation.
Areas of inspection
AreaSubject of inspection
Engineering-geological sectionConformity of the survey and the conclusion with the applicable requirements
Structural sectionConformity of structural solutions with the normative and technical documents
Architectural sectionConformity of the architectural section with the established requirements
Power and low-current systemsPower supply and low-current systems and their technological part
Water supply and drainageWater supply, sewerage and drainage systems
Heating and ventilationVentilation, air-conditioning and heating systems

02 · Result

What you receive

Inspection report

  • the subject of inspection and the scope of services;
  • the basis of assessment — which design, norms and requirements were applied;
  • methods applied and inspection dates;
  • Conformity assessment result — where this is provided for within the scope of services;
  • non-conformities identified, with descriptions and evidence;
  • limitations of the assessment — what was not inspected and for what reason;
  • Certification by an authorised person.

03 · Process

How an inspection is carried out

01

Defining the criteria

We define the assessment criteria on the basis of the applicable requirements and agree the scope of services.

02

Documentary review

Review of the documentation submitted and comparison against the applicable requirements.

03

Technical review

Verification of the mutual consistency of the design sections and of their conformity with the norms.

04

Reporting

Documenting the findings, non-conformities and limitations, and delivering the report.

04 · Scope and legal basis

What you should know

Why mandatory expert examination is not enough
Under Georgian legislation, an expert examination of the structural, architectural and geological sections of the design is required in order to obtain a construction permit. The mandatory review does not include the engineering networks — water supply, sewerage, electrical wiring, low-current systems, heating, ventilation and air conditioning, and also thermal efficiency. Independent inspection of these areas must be commissioned separately.

Scope of services

  • The inspection result is based on the scope of assessment, the methods applied and the evidence collected.
  • The company does not perform the works it independently inspects, nor does it take part in the design of the facility.
  • Mandatory requirements are neither altered nor reduced by agreeing the scope of services.
  • An inspection does not imply a predetermined favourable conclusion and provides no guarantee of an administrative decision.
